Thursday

  • Rockhounding - 2 pm
    What is an agate? Find out as we study rocks along the Lake Superior shoreline. Learn about some of the other interesting rocks and minerals in this area as well.
  • Owls of Whitefish Point - 9 pm
    Enjoy a slide presentation about the owl research at WPBO. Stay after the presentation for a chance to see a live owl be banded and released.

Friday

  • Birds of Whitefish Point – 8:30 pm
    • Enjoy a presentation all about the migrating birds here at WPBO. Find out why we are designated as an Important Bird Area. Discover some bird species that are so amazing, you just HAVE to go out and look for them. Stay after the program for a chance to see a live owl be banded and released.
  • Moth March (July 2, July 23, & Aug 6 only) – 9:30 pm
    • What is a Luna moth? Learn to identify this species and many others as we march through the woods. Also, learn tricks about how you can lure these beautiful creatures into your own backyard.
